Glasgow based Russell Timber Technology is one of the UK’s leading Sub-Contractors offering Design, Manufacture, Supply and Installation of precision engineered timber and alu-clad windows and doors for large scale new build and refurbishment housing projects, we are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Contract Accountant.
Working within the accounts team you will be required to assist the contract accountant with the preparation of applications and reporting tasks throughout the month. This role is a progressive one and in time you would be expected to complete these tasks independently.
Key responsibilities:
-Preparation of applications for payment: this includes the creation of the contract file, creating application templates with reference to the cost capture and clients order. Liaising with other in-house departments to establish accurate information. Submit applications for payment by the required date and update Eque2 and Sage accordingly.
-Credit control: regularly review accuracy and credit controllers progress with aged debtors. Contact with quantity surveyor/client.
-Monthly reporting: reconcile aged debtors between Eque2 and Sage. Produce monthly retention report. Reconcile CIS suffered for submission to HMRC. Reconcile CIS deducted and submit to HMRC. Provide Ad hoc reports as required by company accountant.
-Job costing analysis: Provide costing reports on contracts. Highlight any issues and take corrective action if necessary.
Ideally you will have the following -
- Previous credit controller and financial contracts experience
- Eque2 construction package desired
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of HMRC CIS tax and VAT regulations
You must have knowledge and experience of Sage200.
Candidates with significant experience of managing a Subcontract Ledger may also be suitable for the position dependent on experience.
