RSE exists to make a potentially life-changing difference to some of the most marginalised people in society. These are excellent roles where what you do can make a life-changing difference to those furthest from the workplace.
Specifically RSE works with marginalised people seeking to enter the world of work through self-employment. This is where the role of the Business Start-Up Advisor comes in.
Your previous experience in supporting long-term unemployed, people with convictions or those who find it difficult to fit into a mainstream employed role will strengthen the RSE team to deliver significant self-employed outcomes on the many contracts they currently deliver, and also assist in the growth of the business as additional work comes through.
Working as part of a small but specialist and high performing team your role will be to guide participants through the self-employment landscape, from assessing suitability, finding and arranging funding, banking, assisting with marketing and business plans and much more. Once up and running your relationship does not end there, you will be on hand to provide ongoing support, dealing with the frustrations and wobbles that go hand in hand with self-employment.
You will be their mentor, their guide, their coach for up to 12 months.
You might come from Welfare to Work/Employability, your background might be the third sector, you could be an employment advisor on a current DWP/ESF contract with responsibility for self-employed outcomes, regardless it is essential you have a deep understanding of social enterprise with significant expertise of business start-ups with a passion for helping the underprivileged in society and a desire to see people succeed.
These are true work from home positions; the only expectation on travel is to the Head Office in Ashford, Kent a couple of times per year.
You must have a professional home set up ie dedicated and private space given the confidential nature of the work, a decent broadband connection and room to work comfortably. RSE will supply the laptop, iPhone and software to enable you to work effectively and remotely.
A very competitive starting salary of £34,000 is on offer along with additional benefits.
