Rainbow HR are delighted to be working with Spitfire Doors and Ultrasafe Fire Suppression (part of The Kaliber Group) to recruit a Finance Manager based at their site in Macclesfield.  The role also offers the opportunity to support the financial accounting at Group level,

 

The Kaliber Group is privately owned, with a £9m turnover, comprising 5 successful businesses, which provide the trade with premium niche quality building products.  The ambition is to double the size of the Kaliber Group within 5 years and Spitfire Doors and Ultrasafe Fire Suppression are central to the future business success.  Offering an exceptional high quality product, these profitable businesses currently turn over c£4m per annum.

The role of the Finance Manager is critical in these small business ventures, but is also unusual as it will hold a high level of accountability and the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment

 

The role is accountable for:

 

  • Prepare annual forecasts and support the business planning of the two businesses and at overall Group level from a finance perspective
  • Prepare year end reports for review by Auditors, assisting where necessary
  • Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, analysing any variances
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Reconciliation of Bank and Balance Sheet items to trial balance
  • Preparation of the management accounts
  • Management of credit control
  • Complete monthly VAT returns
  • Management and development of a full time trainee Bookkeeper
  • Preparation of monthly invoices
  • Produce ‘Finance Dashboard’ to monitor trading performance
  • Provide any analysis or management information that may be requested by the Directors, Auditors or Bank
  • On a monthly basis prepare the consolidated Group accounts for all the businesses based on inputs provided by the local finance teams

 

Our ideal candidate will come with:

 

  • Be an excellent communicator and able to work within a team.
  • Excellent IT Skills, especially in Sage and excel
  • Maintain professional independence and objectivity while performing work tasks.
  • Have the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Be proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Part or full accountancy qualifications, ideally CIMA
  • At least 3-5 years industry experience
  • Knowledge of dealing with EU VAT and EU Imports is preferred, but not essential

Salary will be between £40,000 and £45,000 plus a range of benefits. The role is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm and reports to the Board. The role is based in Macclesfield and ideally the role holders will live no more than a 45 minute commute.
