The Communications Assistant is part of the Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team. The role is responsible for a number of areas including managing the internal communications through the company intranet, supporting with internal and external events and assisting with the external communications. Key elements of the role are to manage the social media, mainly on LinkedIn and Twitter along with co-ordinating the organisations charitable activities. In addition there will be an element of general administration to support the Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement teams. The role will support the external profile of the business and will drive high levels of employee engagement.
The ideal candidate will be a Graduate, with first class oral and verbal communication skills. Confident, professional and outgoing you will be able to work with little supervision and as part of a small team. Excellent Microsoft skills are required, along with the ability to create engaging social media with an understanding of how to maximise these platforms. You will have at least 2 years experience in a communications role, whilst the sector is not important an interest in the UK Rail Industry will be an advantage.
