Operations Manager, Falkirk
Sealco [Scotland] Ltd are a highly successful distribution company, servicing the window and door sector, both with commercial and private customers. Operating from a base in Falkirk, the business has been trading for 24 years and is family run.
The business is now entering a period of significant growth and to facilitate this the business owners are keen to engage an Operations Manager to lead on the operational side of the business. Key elements of the role will be to lead the operations team, ensuring all costs are controlled, to manage the supply chain and to ensure that the customers receive an excellent level of service. Additional responsibilities will include contributing to the business planning and budgeting cycles, as well as the identification of improvements to business processes to make these more efficient and effective. This is a leadership position, and the role holder will be accountable to ensure that the distribution processes are delivered by the team in a safe manner, as well as developing the team members to reach their full potential. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the import of goods from China and other overseas countries.
Our ideal candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in distribution management, along with experience of running a busy warehouse with end to end accountability from goods in, to dispatch and customer aftercare. They will ideally come with a background in the supply to the construction trade and experience of imports would be a distinct advantage. You will be an ambitious and inspirational leader, keen to get the opportunity to run a distribution centre under your direction, where you can create improvements which benefit the business as a whole. Change management experience and some knowledge of lean process would also be helpful, however it will be your potential for the long term that will be of most interest to the business.
