Spares Manager, competitive salary, Derby

Based in Derby with a corporate Head Office in London, the organisation is well underway in delivering a transformational change programme under the leadership of Mary Grant, Chief Executive. The business is leading the way in fleet innovation and added value services whilst ensuring that the fleet assets are managed to deliver the highest levels of performance and reliability for our customers.

Reporting to the Head of Asset Protection, the new role of Spares Manager will be accountable to manage the considerable spares assets for the Porterbrook fleet. The role will manage and monitor all spares whether they be leased, contracted or strategic. The objective of the role will be to maximise the investment in spares, ensure that the correct level of spares are available to meet the business needs and ensure that the fleet is maintained to the highest levels.

The ideal candidate will have managed fleet spares either in a supplier, train operating company or a ROSCO. They will be very organised, with excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally. Audit experience would be an advantage, along with a solid understanding of railway engineering works, depot methods and procedures.
