Support worker

Following on from the success of our last recruitment drive Trinity Care Group are looking for reliable, professional and caring individuals for upcoming roles providing support for children and young persons, we are looking for people who live close to our Accrington head office (BB5 5BY).

Please note that Trinity are regarded as having “Key Worker” status, as such interviews and training are allowed, we have reduced the numbers in the training room and all Covid secure precautions are met. As a key worker for Trinity you are allowed to undertake work.

 Preference will be given to candidates with their own transport as some roles involve early starts/late finishes when public transport will not be running, it is essential though that you have a driving licence with a maximum of 6 points together with proven driving experience as some assignments are providing a safe and reliable driving/escort service to and from secure units, courts, police stations etc and for appointments in non-secure environments such as hospitals and dental surgeries.  

 You will need previous experience of working with children, including dealing with emotional/behavioural problems, mental health conditions and/or challenging behaviours, as such you will need to be compassionate, calm, resilient and understand the issues and challenges children face.

 Currently we are looking for people to join our flexible register to cover roles on an “as needed” basis, as such the roles are NOT suited to those looking for full time, permanent work.

Shifts offered could include–

  • early and late shifts
  • weekends
  • 7 day cover
  • overnight stays covering typically 2-3 nights, but sometimes of longer duration

 Trinity will provide full and comprehensive paid training; it would be beneficial if you have previous experience and training in the following -

  • MAPA
  • First Aid
  • Administering Medication
  • Safeguarding Levels 1 & 2

 You will need an enhanced DBS and be registered on the online update service or be able to complete the process for an enhanced DBS.

 Care, Supervision and Support duties could include:

  • Provide care, supervision and support for children, young people and their families
  • Work within children’s (secure) residential units supplementing existing in-house staffing
  • Ensure the security, safety and wellbeing of children and young people subject to a secure order during a stay in hospital (Secure Bed Watch)
  • Provide bespoke support services for service users with complex support needs. Such services may be required over a short or longer-term period and may be ad hoc or 24 hour ‘live-in’ support
