Traincare Centre Manager - Leeds area
Recruitment@RainbowHR are recruiting for a Traincare Centre Manager for a large train operator in the UK. The role reports to the Fleet Director and covers a geography in the north East and north West of England (Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle), ideally we want someone to be within an hours drive of the Leeds Neville Hill Traincare Depot.
The position has responsibility for the safe and effective operation of all maintenance locations including outstations where you will provide leadership and direction for all production areas for the Traincare Centre and out based teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive organisation, in a senior leadership role.
Our ideal candidate will have a background in specialised engineering or Traincare Centre management with proven technical and staff management skills, it is expected you will have managed multi-disciplinary teams in excess of 250 people, with expertise in controlling significant budgets along with assuming full Safety, Health, Environment and Crime (SHEC) responsibilities including demonstratable experience of investigating and reporting any accidents and safety & environmental incidents.
You will provide technical and managerial on call support and incident management response for mainline incidents involving trains in the designated area, along with ensuring technical, safety, cleaning and train presentation standards are maintained
The role holder will establish the policies and systems to ensure all work activities meet statutory and company health and safety, occupational and environmental obligations.

- to motivate and empower all staff to deliver continuous improvements in processes, productivity and standards
- to apply problem solving skills and analytical techniques to a wide range of technical, people and system problems to identify opportunities to improve performance
It is essential for candidates to have -
- An engineering degree or working towards
- Extensive knowledge and experience of engineering and leadership, with particular emphasis on railway vehicle maintenance and Traincare Centre management
- Good level of commercial acumen
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Experience of safety, quality and technical product audits and audit techniques
